Shelby A. Cummings
Shelby represents large companies and employers, guiding them through the various stages of litigation as well as providing thoughtful and creative pre-litigation advisement. She specializes in representing clients in the cannabis, health care and automotive industries, as well as handling Proposition 65 matters for all industries. She has litigated numerous complex high-stake matters including contractual disputes, business dissolutions, trade secret matters and trademark infringement lawsuits. She also advises clients in all stages of patent licensing agreements, ranging from negotiating initial terms to litigating breaches of contract.
Shelby supports ArentFox Schiff’s national intellectual property practice by assisting clients with protecting their patents, copyrights and other intellectual property through creative advisement and vigorous litigation. In addition, she has helped clients mediate intellectual property and contractual disputes and successfully settle cases and avoid the cost of trial.
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Shelby was a judicial extern to the Hon. Consuelo B. Marshall in US District Court, Central District of California.
She was also an in-house extern for a multi-national business, where she gained invaluable first-hand experience, which she now uses to advise corporations doing business in California.
