Arent Fox Earns Diversity Lab’s Mansfield 4.0 Certification
To be selected for certification, firms must complete a review process that measures whether 30% of candidates considered for recruitment, governance roles, equity partner promotions, and inclusion in formal pitch presentations to clients include women lawyers, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities. Arent Fox will continue participation in the Mansfield Rule program with the launch of Mansfield 5.0.
Named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to the practice of law in the United States, the Mansfield Rule is similar to the National Football League’s “Rooney Rule.” The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to boost the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these roles and opportunities. As the data reveals, firms participating in the Mansfield Rule are making great strides in diversifying their leadership, which will help create the systemic changes necessary to foster long-term inclusion and equity in our workplaces.
