Grant draws on his interdisciplinary background to deliver thoughtful and persuasive legal work for clients in complex litigation and white collar cases. At ArentFox Schiff, he successfully obtained a non-custodial sentence in a federal money laundering case. And Grant has used his analytical sensitivity to help craft cutting-edge case theories in complex civil cases. He first came to ArentFox Schiff as a summer associate.
Previous Work
Prior to working with ArentFox Schiff, Grant worked as a monitoring and evaluation consultant for International Justice Mission’s (IJM) Dominican Republic program, which focused on public justice system reform to combat child sex trafficking. At IJM, Grant was part of a team that achieved a 78% reduction in commercial sexual exploitation of children in the Dominican Republic over an eight-year period.
While at IJM, Grant supervised an interdisciplinary team of lawyers, social workers, and investigators. He also oversaw program design, conducted quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and composed technical reports measuring program impact. Grant also has qualitative research experience with US prisons and migrant detention in the Americas. While completing a dual degree in law and social work, Grant served as a clinical student intern with the Marjorie Kovler Center, where he conducted individual and group trauma therapy with Spanish-speaking youth. These experiences enable Grant to take a holistic, person-centered approach to solving complex, sensitive issues.
In law school, Grant served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael B. Hyman of the Illinois Appellate Court.
Pro Bono Service
Grant uses pro bono work to serve Spanish speakers and work for civil rights. Grant has represented a migrant challenging his unlawful detention in a federal habeas corpus proceeding, and a high school student challenging her expulsion from a public school.
