Michael’s practice centers on complex insurance and reinsurance disputes, representing clients in federal and state courts as well as in arbitrations. He guides clients through high-stakes coverage matters, drawing on his combined courtroom and arbitration experience and his background handling disputes involving reinsurance, and also property and casualty, political risk, and trade credit insurance. He manages all stages of litigation, which includes overseeing discovery, drafting dispositive and procedural motions, and negotiating settlements.
Michael’s practice also includes regulatory counseling, with experience advising clients on reinsurance intermediary broker licensing and related regulatory issues in multiple states.
Previous Work
Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Michael was an Associate at a law firm in New York, where he represented insurers and reinsurers in a wide-range of complex insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes. Before entering private practice, Michael served as a Judicial Intern in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. He also served as a Judicial Intern in the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court, New York County.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors – whether running, hiking, or skiing – and supporting his hometown teams, the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
