Sarah is a patent agent who advises technology companies on patent preparation and prosecution, portfolio strategy, and freedom‑to‑operate analyses. Drawing on prior hardware engineering experience, she supports the full patent lifecycle—from invention harvesting and drafting through U.S. and international prosecution. Sarah helps align IP protection with product development and business objectives across electrical, computer, and mechanical technologies. She regularly coordinates examiner interviews, manages global filing strategies, and works closely with in‑house counsel and engineering teams to translate complex systems into durable, strategically aligned IP assets.
Previous Work
Prior to private practice, Sarah worked as a hardware and mechanical engineer at a leading aerospace and defense company, where she contributed to network architecture design and the development of cybersecurity requirements for the ground station of a missile defense system. This experience informs her ability to identify and capture novel features and security considerations in complex, safety‑critical technologies. She has also supported domestic and international patent prosecution, including portfolio development and management, and contributed to the training of patent professionals through a patent agent training program.
Life Beyond the Law
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys an active lifestyle, spending time outdoors in beautiful Colorado hiking and skiing with her husband and dog, exploring Denver, and taking on new challenges as an accomplished marathon runner.
