ArentFox Schiff Welcomes International Private Clients Partner Cynthia Brittain to LA Office

ArentFox Schiff is pleased to announce the addition of partner Cynthia Brittain to its premier Private Clients, Trusts & Estates practice in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Cindy brings more than 25 years advising high-net-worth multinational families, individuals, and global companies with complex cross-border tax and estate planning matters.

Cindy’s work includes pre-immigration planning, international corporate tax and international and domestic wealth and asset transfer and is particularly adept at advising on the interplay of tax regimes for international high net worth clients. 

She also has extensive experience with cross-border regulatory laws affecting US domestic planning as well as with US tax compliance under the voluntary disclosure regimes. Cindy assists her clients in navigating complicated disclosure rules related to ownership of foreign entities and financial bank or investment accounts. In addition, she provides hands-on guidance for financial institutions and corporate trustees who work with international clients.

The move expands the PCTE group’s reach and capabilities in the international estate planning space.

In addition to her legal practice, Cindy is a frequent speaker on international estate and tax planning issues for beginners and advanced strategists. She also serves as an adjunct professor teaching International Estate Planning at California State University – Northridge. She was highlighted by Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Women of Influence: Attorneys 2025.”

Cindy received an LLM degree in taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law, a JD degree from California Western School of Law and a BA degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Cindy joins the firm from Holland & Knight LLP where she was a partner in their Private Wealth Services Group.
