Esosa Aimufua

Esosa is an environmental litigator whose practice covers environmental, land use, and natural resources disputes as well as regulatory counseling for energy and infrastructure projects. As a former Trial Attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division, she served as lead counsel defending federal agency decisions in litigation arising under the Administrative Procedure Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and other environmental, natural resources, and land management statutes. She defended challenges brought by opposing stakeholders, and she negotiated multimillion-dollar settlements resolving claims against the United States. Esosa also advised federal agencies including the Department of the Interior, the Department of Energy, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the Bureau of Land Management on environmental compliance and large-scale energy and infrastructure development. Prior to DOJ, she represented nonprofit and public-interest clients before courts and state utility commissions on clean water access, water affordability, and renewable energy.
