ArentFox Schiff hosted the first session of our AFS Family Office University, an ongoing series of in-person and virtual events hosted by our Private Clients, Trusts & Estates Practice Group.

In the first session, “Family Office 101: An Introduction to Family Offices and the State of the Industry,” panelists Mike Moyers, Sarah Severson, and Kevin Matz discussed:

  • History and function of family offices
  • Types of structures for family offices
  • Overview of legal setup and other issues (including tax issues)

This hybrid event took place at ArentFox Schiff's Chicago office from 4:00 - 5:00 PM CT and was followed by a networking reception.
