AFS Counsel Fredrick Weber will present at the Greater North Shore Estate & Financial Planning Council’s breakfast meeting on September 16, 2026, in Skokie, Illinois.
Many clients view their estate planning work as complete once documents are signed, beneficiary designations are updated, and assets are retitled. Fred’s presentation “Between Signature and Settlement: Maintaining Asset and Liability Information, Communicating with Key Stakeholders, and Easing the Burden of Post-Death Administration While the Grantor Is Still Alive,” will focus on the often-overlooked period between estate plan execution and post-death administration, offering practical strategies to help clients keep their plans current and effective over time. Attendees will learn approaches for organizing and maintaining information related to financial accounts, real estate, business interests, digital assets, and personal property so that fiduciaries can more efficiently identify, locate, and administer assets when needed.
Fred will also discuss the importance of proactive communication among family members, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and trusted advisors. Through regular family meetings and thoughtful information sharing, he will explore ways clients can reduce the likelihood of future administration challenges, strengthen family relationships, and increase the chances that their estate planning objectives are ultimately achieved.
