Arent Fox Once Again Named ‘Best Place to Work’ by Human Rights Campaign
“We are once again honored to receive this recognition from the Human Rights Campaign,” said Chairman Mark M. Katz, who also leads the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. “At Arent Fox, we believe that first-rate legal counsel and exceptional service is the product of a strong, diverse workplace that champions the values of equality and respect.”
The 2014 Corporate Equality Index rated nearly 1,000 businesses by evaluating their LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. In receiving a 100 percent rating, Arent Fox was named a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.”
For a decade, Arent Fox’s Chairman has led the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. The Committee’s primary goal is to recruit, retain, and promote lawyers of color, female lawyers, and LGBT lawyers, and to ensure that adequate firm resources are dedicated to their training, mentoring, coaching, and business development.
Earlier this week, Arent Fox announced it will begin accepting applications from first-year law students on December 1, 2014 for its Diversity Scholarship Program, marking the 10th anniversary for the firm’s annual financial award to three students who demonstrate a commitment to practicing law at the highest level.
