Sarah Fitts and Mike Showalter will present at the International Bar Association’s inaugural ESG Conference from February 28 to March 1, 2023.

Sarah is a conference co-chair and will moderate a panel titled “The balancing act: ESG in the energy and extractive industries – managing diverse stakeholder interests while keeping the lights on.” They will discuss how the oil, gas, and mining industries can manage their ESG objectives and diverse stakeholder interests while continuing to run their businesses and meet global demand. The session will cover how industries that are essential to national security and modern life are sometimes targeted as negative contributors to climate change and other ESG priorities.

Mike will present “What could possibly go wrong? ESG-related disputes: litigation and enforcement.” The panel will offer global perspectives on recent disputes-related developments and address strategies for mitigating ESG risks, including essential roles for legal, compliance, and other professionals.
