International Trade & Investment Special Legal Consultant, Ucheora Onwuamaegbu, and Partner and AI & Emerging Technologies Industry Group Co-Leader, Michael Scarpati, Ph.D., will participate in Quantum Computing: The Next Frontier in International Arbitration during Washington Arbitration Week on October 30 in Washington, DC. Uche will moderate the discussion, which will bring together legal, academic, and industry leaders to examine how advances in quantum computing may transform international arbitration and the broader legal landscape.

The panel will explore the potential implications of quantum computing for encryption, cybersecurity, data privacy, and dispute resolution. Panelists will discuss how emerging quantum technologies may challenge existing contractual and legal frameworks, create new categories of disputes, and require arbitrators and counsel to adapt to increasingly complex technological issues.

Michael and fellow panelists will provide insights into the industries expected to be most affected by quantum innovation, including defense, finance, pharmaceuticals, and materials science. The discussion will address how businesses, practitioners, and arbitral institutions can prepare for a future in which quantum computing reshapes digital trust, information security, and international commerce.
