Canada Legal Practice Leader Riyaz Dattu will present on a chapter of a new multi-author volume on taxation and investment arbitration on June 10, 2026.
Riyaz’s presentation will examine how notification provisions in international investment agreements (IIAs) governing taxation measures can create procedural risks for investors, function as a state-controlled filter on claims, and raise concerns around due process and delay. He will also outline an alternative approach centered on embedding taxation expertise within arbitration.
