Tracy McLaughlin will present at the 35th Annual RPTE National CLE Conference on May 12, 2023.

Tracy and her co-panelist will discuss the basics of the generation-skipping transfer (GST) tax. The GST tax confuses and challenges new and seasoned estate planners alike. The rules are filled with exceptions that are not intuitive given the basic structure of the regime.  The panel will cover topics such as: Who is a transferor for GST purposes? When is GST tax payable?  What is the GST exemption and how it is allocated? What if a trust is only partially GST-exempt?
