Arent Fox Advises Total Quality Logistics in Naming Rights to FC Cincinnati Stadium

Arent Fox LLP served as outside counsel to Total Quality Logistics, the largest privately held freight brokerage firm in the nation, in a naming rights transaction for the home of Cincinnati’s MLS Team.

FC Cincinnati’s stadium will be known as “TQL Stadium” and is scheduled to open May 1. The first home match against Inter Miami CF is scheduled for May 16. Sports Practice Leader Richard L. Brand led a team from Arent Fox that included Intellectual Property Partner Luna M. Samman and Associates Wesley T. Gee and Zachary D. Welsh.

The naming rights partnership includes signs inside and outside the stadium, a branded bar area, and a branded seating area. The stadium’s lighted exterior will feature TQL’s logo moving across the stadium’s facade, in addition to a lighted TQL Stadium sign.

Named by Law360 as the ‘Practice Group of the Year,’ Arent Fox’s Sports team regularly advises sports organizations (leagues, conferences, teams, national governing bodies), sponsors, and investors. Our focus includes acquisitions and sales of sports franchises, naming rights and sponsorship, properties and events, media and technology (including emerging technologies), governance, intellectual property, sports betting and fantasy sports, compliance, and investigations.

This transaction is just the latest major naming rights and sponsorship transactions handled by Arent Fox. Recent naming rights and sponsorship transactions within the last year includes:

  • Serving as outside counsel to Q2 Holdings, the Austin-based leading provider of digital transformation solutions for banking and lending, in a naming rights transaction for the new home of Austin’s MLS Team.
