Rebecca (Becky) is an associate whose practice focuses on government and internal investigations, regulatory enforcement actions, and complex litigation. She is a member of the Sports Industry Group and has significant experience ofexpertise advising clients in the sports and gaming industry. Becky’s practice also encompasses transactional matters for sports and gaming clients, including high-value sponsorships, naming rights agreements, strategic commercial arrangements, and team- and league-level investments and deals.

Becky brings a rigorous analytical approach informed by her clerkship experience at both the federal and state appellate levels. Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, she practiced at a leading AmLaw 100 firm, where she played a key role in launching the firm’s Sports and Gaming Practice. 

Previous Work 

Prior to joining ArentFox Schiff, Becky developed significant experience representing professional associations and gaming companies in government investigations, resolving regulatory inquiries and related litigation, and counseling corporations and sports organizations on compliance strategies related to sports betting and integrity.

Becky also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Kimba M. Wood of the Southern District of New York and the Honorable Michael J. Garcia of the New York Court of Appeals.

Client Work 

Highlights of Becky’s work include:  

  • Counseled clients on the risks and potential liability of involving the alleged misuse of inside information in connection with prediction markets and sportsbooks, advising clients on regulatory exposure and enforcement risk in emerging areas of gaming law. 
  • Advised major sports players associations on governance and fiduciary issues, including matters involving internal disputes, regulatory scrutiny, and risk management. 
  • Represented a global lottery operator in connection with compliance matters involving a state gaming regulator, helping the client respond to regulatory inquiries and mitigate potential liability. 
  • Advised a leading sportsbook and fantasy sports provider on advertising and promotional practices, including assessing regulatory risk and preparing for potential enforcement or dispute exposure. 
  • Conducted investigations into integrity-related misconduct and advised leagues, teams, and gaming companies on responsible gaming disputes, including developing strategies to address allegations, mitigate regulatory risk, and implement defensible compliance measures.
